If you set up like this you’re going to have a very tough time getting consistent results. The spinal tilt towards the target typically opens the shoulders and causes rotational issues/reverse pivoting. These lead to coming over the top, or really leaning back to try to save it. Give the demonstrated drill a try to get your spinal tilts in order. - Code BRYCECOPE20 for 20% off @STITCH GOLF - #golf #golfswing #golflife #golftips
17mph of club head speed in two years, here’s how ⬇️ Rewind to two seasons ago in mid/late 2022 swing speed was 106-108mph on a good day. Had some lower back issues from sitting so much in the medical field, I stopped lifting and speed went down drastically. Since then… 💪🏼: Dropped down to 164-165lbs body weight once I stopped working out. Once I got into golf full time the body started feeling better so I started lifting again. Didn’t do anything “golf specific” necessarily (DB bench, pull downs, rows, landmine press, lunges, etc) and started to eat more. Body weight currently floating between 183-186lbs. More mass is going to generate more power if it’s moving correctly. 🏌🏼♂️: I found a mobility routine that works for me for the hips and spine I do before every lifting day(see @Vernon Griffith CSCS*D for everything you need there). 🌪️: the only “golf specific” move I do is staggered stance high and low single arm cable rotations (look them up on TPI). Feel great for turning into the hip joint and generating some nice t spine rotation. 🏎️: I have never done a speed training system. 1-2x a week I will do medicine ball throws (shot put style from chest high) and a session once every few weeks where I swing as hard as I can at 10-15 drivers not caring where it goes. You can hear Rory talk about both of these on the video he just did with @Grant Horvat Golf ⛳️: last was swing mechanics. The club used to be very stuck inside, hard to generate speed from there. Getting the club path more neutral has definitely allowed me to move quicker through impact. Not saying this is how everyone has to do it but it worked for me and added 25-30 off the tee and 1-1.5 irons. - Code BRYCECOPE20 for 20% off @STITCH GOLF - #golf #golfer #golfing
If you slice the ball you have to understand this relationship. Some players rotate and load more behind it, and some less, but you will see very few high level players leaning the upper body forward at the top of backswing. You always hear “the hips start the downswing”, while this is true it is all set up by the backswing. If you predispose yourself to the upper body spinning out and getting ahead you’re toast. Dial the set up in, improve the rotation, then start worrying about your arms, wrist mechanics, shallowing moves if needed, etc. - - Code BRYCECOPE24 for 20% off @stitchgolf - - #golf #golfswing #golftips #golfing #golftiktok
Incredible journey over to Iceland, the land of fire and ice did not disappoint. Highland Base was quite a trip in itself, everything we saw before booking said it was a 2-3 hour drive out but with the snow and rain they got before we arrived it turned into a 6 hour drive which had the anxiety through the roof the whole time. It was worth it though, the Northern Lights out there were incredible. They said they are lucky to get back to back clear nights 2-3x a year. It was some much needed down time, we were supposed to go snowmobiling but it was cancelled due to the icy conditions. The Silica Hotel and Blue Lagoon are also worth the trip. The Blue Lagoon is amazing to see but the way you are herded in there and with the amount of people it definitely takes away from the experience in my opinion. We went about an hour after opening and there were several buses there already with 200+ people in the lagoon. The private lagoon at the Silica is the way to go if you stay there. If you are going from KEF to Blue Lagoon, or vice versa, stoping at Reykjanes Lighthouse and Bridge Between Continents on the way is worth it as well. Both were free with plenty of parking. Overall, amazing trip and can’t wait to go back. - #travel #iceland
