We are now Ezra Deran Michel and Elle Michel Deran. We had a tiny ceremony at the courthouse yesterday with close family. Being Trans in love is the greatest gift. As a Trans bride, I never thought I’d have this experience in my life. I always dreamt of wearing the white dress and the veil…of holding the bouquet… But before coming out, I didn’t think I was allowed any of this. I was constantly shown that it wasn’t for me. And after coming out, I lost faith that I would find someone who truly saw me…someone who I felt safe and seen with. Following my voice of resonance led me to this moment. I am surrounded by people who are open and capable of loving me. My life is filled to the brim with magical moments like these because I choose to follow a deeper truth as my higher power. Legally changing my name was much more emotional than I anticipated. I didn’t realize how much I was holding onto my deadname. That name and persona protected me for so many years, but it also kept me hidden from the love I deserve. I feel so free…as if I can more fully step into this truer expression of myself. I am so grateful for my beautiful fiancé, @ezramichelmusic, for holding me through this journey. I can’t wait to marry you.🥹💕

A reminder of Trans resilience for my community.💕 Please don’t mistake this message as a minimization of the real threat that this new administration poses to our safety…and I pray that these words of hope do not send our allies into passivity. We need action. This is scary and BLEAK…and these words have helped carry me out of feeling completely out of control and powerless. Trans people are DEEPLY resilient.
