10 years ago I auditioned for America’s Got Talent where I got the Golden Buzzer from a personal hero of mine @howiemandel. I auditioned with a joke about having my voice as the voice of your GPS. To look back and think… That joke would almost not even make sense with how much my voice has changed! You guys have given me the space and freedom to let both my speech AND my comedy evolve — and to the people who have stuck with me from the very beginning to see ALL the effort I put in on a daily basis… thank you. Stuttering is the ultimate teacher of patience, grace, and acceptance. Whether you’re talking with it or listening to it, surrender is paramount. It’s taken years of me battling with this to not mistake being interrupted as a personal attack- but a lesson of relinquishing control. I struggle every day with what I want. But God has shown me the lesson in embracing detours. Better outcomes can lie just beyond what cannot be seen, and I am no exception. Surrender.
