I tried to take a deep dive into the actual research behind this recommendation and honestly I didnt come up with much… I do think it is more of a precaution for ages 6-12 months… Signs of infant botulism are typically constipation, followed by lethargy, poor feeding, reduced crying ability, drooping eyelids, baby becoming floppy due to muscle weakness and a loss of head control.
