Hiking Pants Recs: Size 8, 5’9” Curvy, Athletic Body Type👇🏻 I have always been a “hike with leggings girlie because companies IMO didn’t know how to make a hiking pant for my body type. Whenever I would try them on… I would leave the fitting room feeling some type of way. They were either too low wasted and I had a muffin top, or they wouldn’t go over my ass or thighs or they were just too short. However… more and more companies are starting to GET IT because I have found some amazing ones of the last year. But sadly, two of my favorites were just discontinued so, here are my UPDATED RECS for 3 hiking pants I am obsessed with right now. Note: NONE of this is spon. My Sizing: • Pants: 29-31, 8-10 or large-XL • 5’9” • 180lbs • Curvy, athletic build All of these options have: • Adjustable waist • Water resistant • Adjustable ankles (cinching) • Tons of pockets!! • Very well made & great fabric. • Multiple color options & sizing Option 1: @prAna Zion Strech Pant My Size: • Brown: 8 & 31 Inseam • Black: 8 & 33 Inseam (too long IMO) How it fits: • These are true to size with possibly bring a size too big! After wearing them multiple times, they have gotten bigger/stretched. I feel really comfortable with an 8 but I could honestly move to a 6 too. It just depends on comfort level! But HIGHLY recommend. I feel so good in these! Option 2: @Arc’teryx Gamma Pant My Size: • Black & Rune: 8 How it fits: • Extremely true to size! Size 8 was a perfect fit. I love these. Option 3: @SENIQ Trail Mix Pant My Size: • Brown: M • Zen Green: L How it fits: • LOVE these! They are a bit shorter on me but I wear them for lifestyle & hiking. Both the M & L fit me but I wear them based on how I feel and what type of style I want. Also a women owned company yay!!! All 🔗 in bio!! LMK if you have questions! #hikingclothes #hikingpants #size8
van life: why I’m ANTI propane stovetop + what I do instead: Propane Built In Stovetop: So, I used this set up for 1.5 years in my first rig & it’s FINE but it can go really wrong. I also didn’t like it because it took up too much counter space & my cats messed with it too much! Plus, I was inside of a van who’s stove exploded because the bumpy road she was on put the system out of place. I’m not saying they will, but in my opinion they have a greater chance of going wrong than any other set up. So, I tried induction but soon realized I HATED it because it just took too much power + I just prefer cooking over a flame. Then I settled on the single burner butane camp stove and I LOVE it. Love love love it. It’s easy to use & store & I get to keep all of my counter space! Lmk if you have any questions! #vanlife #vanbuild
Peru: 7 Days Trekking Ausangate Info: If there’s only one backpacking trip you do the rest of you’re life, let us be this one. This is Ausangate & I just spent the last seven days (parts at 17,.000ft) circumnavigating it so let’s talk: Self-Guided vs. Supported: • You can do this trek self-guided however, please be respectful to the local land. Many of the campsites & parts of the trail are on private land. Please do your research if self-guided. • We chose to work with a Quechua local guide who hired members from the Quechua community for a supported experience. Hiking & Altitude: • 7 days & 6 nights • hiked around 5-10 hours daily but we had to go SLOW because of the altitude. • The trek starts at 13k ft and you hike as high as 17kft • I had headaches only going DOWN & then some at meals What is provided: • All meals were freshly cooked by the chef! Bathroom: private cassette toilet at camp tents, liners, sleeping pads, drinking water, snacks etc. Weather: • Late May is supposed to be their dry season BUT since the mountains are unpredictable, there was rain, snow & hail! What to Pack: • Layers, layers, layers!! Dress for every season. Pro tip: pack comfy clothes specifically for camp All of my tops are from @PAKA & I LOVE them. Plus, they were made from sustainable Peruvian alpaca fiber—which is 60% warmer than wool. And we saw many of the alpacas they use on the trail which was really cool. @Paka tops featured: • Women’s Aire Long Sleeve in Clay • Women’s Aire Long Sleeve in Heather Grey • The Cusco Sweater in Burgundy • Women’s Thermal Crew in Uva • Women’s Sol Sun Hoodie • Women’s Essential Tank in Forage • Women’s Apu Lightweight Puffer in Black #peru #ausangate #pakapartner
