To the person who said, ‘It’s not hard taking care of kids’ — you’re right, to a point. It’s not just the caring. It’s doing everything else on top of being a mum that’s exhausting. The mental load, the planning, the never-ending to-do list… that’s what makes it hard. I’d spent the whole morning playing with Frank, and as I tried to make his lunch for nursery, he just wanted to climb into my top. The guilt hit me — that I can’t be fully present every second, that I can’t play all day, even though I wish I could. #motherhood #overstimulated #parenting
