I feel like this method has helped with consistency so much, and a lot of the nail techs I follow have shared about using a slightly angled file to help with shaping elongated oval nails / Russian almond nails / almond nails. The finished look will depend on your nail bed shape, nail type, C curve, etc, and overall length, but my ideal length is where the free edge is about 1/3 of my overall nail length and I prefer a softer / not so pointy almond. :)
