If you’re a new parent (or buying gifts for one) - this one’s for you. 

These baby products are more trouble than they’re worth. 

I have 2 toddlers, I got sucked into some of the ‘new mom’ marketing, but trust me, less is more. You don’t need a lot of the stuff the registry lists tell you to get. 

These tips could save a life but at the very least, it’ll save you some money. 

And if you need alternatives, here’s some ideas:

Instead of a lounger, use the crib, play yard, bassinet or a baby mat or gym for the floor.
A bouncer/swing works too but never for sleep.

Instead of a baby walker or activity center- let the baby pull up on furniture around the house like your couch and you can get them a push walker toy. 

Neck floats- none. Hold the baby. 

Weighted blankets- a regular wearable blanket or swaddle without the weights.

DIY Personalized Tie-Dye Beach Towels 🏖️ These were so simple to make, and a great DIY to do with kids this summer. - Take a white towel and lay on a plastic table cloth. - Use duck tape to spell out the name. - Then using the spray on Tie-Dye we sprayed on the colors we wanted. - Once dry we removed the tape and rinsed in cold water in the washing machine and then dried. 🍙 SPAM MUSUBI (Hawaiian-Style!) 
Cut Spam into slices & marinate in:
🌟 1/4 cup soy sauce
🌟 1/4 cup mirin
🌟 2 tbsp honey Let it soak for 15min, then pan-fry a few mins per side. Add in a few spoons of the sauce and cook for a few more minutes — don’t overcook it or the sauce will burn! Cook 2 cups jasmine rice 🍚 Use your Spam can to mold the rice if you don’t have a musubi press (see below) 🙌 Use your spam mold- Layer with Spam, rice, wrap with sushi nori, sprinkle sesame seeds or furikake on top. That’s it! Salty, sweet, crispy, chewy. 😍🍱 Use a Spam Can as a Musubi Mold: 1. Clean the Can
After removing the Spam, wash the can thoroughly with soap and water. Be careful of sharp edges! 2. Line with Plastic Wrap (Optional but helpful)
Add a piece of plastic wrap inside the can. This makes it easier to lift the musubi out and keeps things clean. 3. Layer Your Ingredients Inside the Can: * Add a layer of cooked rice and press it down firmly with the back of a spoon or clean fingers. * Sprinkle furikake or sesame seeds if using. * Add your cooked Spam slice. * Add a little more rice on top if desired (some people like a top rice layer, others don’t). 4. Press & Remove:
Fold over the plastic wrap and press everything down tightly. Then lift the whole thing out using the wrap, or gently turn the can over and tap it out. 5. Wrap with Nori:
