Finally tried this hidden gem in Guildford – @Lanzhou Noodle House Guildford is a halal spot you need to try! Run by Chef Norman, a Chinese Muslim chef with years of experience, this newly opened place is serving up hand-pulled noodle soups from just $16 – and the flavour is unreal. We tried the braised beef noodle soup (so tender!) crispy beef dumplings, juicy lamb skewers, and a range of their stir-fries – the lamb and cumin one was my favourite! They even do dessert crepes filled with chocolate Biscoff or fruit, and they’ve got a prayer room upstairs. Plenty of parking across the road (behind Abu Salim), and they don’t stock any boycott brands – we love to see it. I’ll be picking 2 people from the comments to win a $50 voucher each to spend at Lanzu Noodle House! Like reel and drop a comment ♥️ #halalsydney #sydneyeats #noodles #halalnoodles #halalrestaurant

There’s chocolate cake… and then there’s this chocolate cake. Ultra-moist, deeply chocolatey, and super rich — it pairs so well with this velvety coffee cream cheese frosting - give it a go, you’re going to be hooked! Ingredients For the Moist Chocolate Cake: • 2 eggs • Dash of vanilla • 1½ cups sugar • ¾ cup milk • ⅓ cup vegetable oil • 1½ cups all-purpose flour • ¾ cup cocoa powder • 1 tsp baking powder • 1 tsp baking soda • ½ tsp salt • ¾ cup hot water For the Coffee Cream Cheese Frosting: • 250g cream cheese (cold) • 2 packets cream chantilly powder • ½ cup cold milk • 2 espresso shots (or 2 tbsp instant coffee dissolved in ¼ cup hot water) Method 1. Make the Cake: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla, sugar, milk, and oil until smooth and combined. Add in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gently whisk or stir until just combined — avoid overmixing. Finally, pour in the hot water and whisk until the batter is smooth. It will be thin — that’s what makes the cake so incredibly moist. Pour the batter into a greased and lined round cake tin. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely before frosting. 2. Make the Frosting: Whip the cream cheese until smooth. Add the cream chantilly powder, milk, and coffee, and whip again until thick and fluffy. 3. Assemble: Once the cake is cool, slice it in half horizontally. Spread a generous layer of frosting between the layers, then sandwich together. Cover the top and sides with more frosting. Pipe any extra on top and dust with cocoa powder for a beautiful finish. & enjoy!! Chicken noodle soup - perfect for this weather 🥣 I made it for a dear friend who has given birth. It is warm, nourishing and also perfect for post partum recovery. Ingredients For the chicken stock: • 2 tbsp vegetable oil • 1 onion, roughly chopped into chunks • 2 chicken breasts @akarmeats • Salt & pepper, to taste • Flavourings (I used @mimosspicebags ) • 5–6 cups water For the soup: • 1 tbsp vegetable oil • 1 cup vermicelli noodles, broken into small pieces • 4 cups frozen mixed vegetables • Chicken stock (from above) • Extra water, as needed • Shredded chicken • 3 tsp onion powder • 3 tsp garlic powder • 3 tsp Vegeta (or to taste) • Salt & pepper, to taste • 1 handful chopped spring onion (to finish) Method 1. Make the stock: • In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. • Add chopped onion and chicken breasts. Sear both sides until lightly browned. • Add salt, pepper, spice bag, and enough water to cover the chicken. • Bring to a boil, then simmer for 20–25 minutes until chicken is fully cooked. • Remove chicken and shred (I used my stand mixer). 2. Prepare the noodles and veggies: • In a separate pot, heat vegetable oil and toast broken vermicelli until golden. • Add frozen vegetables and stir briefly. • Pour in chicken stock and add extra water as needed to cover everything. 3. Finish the soup: • Add shredded chicken to the pot. • Season with onion powder, garlic powder, Vegeta, salt, and pepper. • Simmer for 10–15 minutes until vegetables are soft and flavours are well combined. 4. To serve: • Stir in chopped spring onion right before serving for added freshness and flavour. #chickensoup #souprecipe #soupseason #postpartum
