And while Great Northern isn’t funding the shift from state forest to national park, they are supporting land purchases to create new ones. I’ve seen it before—tracks shut, campsites abandoned, and a slow but steady erosion of access. This isn’t about stopping conservation; it’s about making sure it’s done right. Because if we’re not careful, we’ll lose more than just tracks—we’ll lose the ability to connect with the land altogether.
